RAGNAR to hunt

At this point I am pretty psyched about RAGNAR. 5 months away, but a killer way to prepare for the hunt. Will help pass the time. 12 of us are going to run from Logan to Park City in a relay fashion. Last year was one of the most amazing experiences ever. I really didn't know what to expect going in, but now that I know what it's all about I have Christmas time anticipation going on.
Our team will be known as Hot Property! Our name comes from a stand up skit done by the very funny Norm MacDonald. He talks about how every band to ever compete on "Star Search" was named Hot Property! I actually found this clip of a band named Hot Property! This is exactly how a band with that name should look and perform, and these are the exact songs they should sing. It would be nice to think that the Ragnar team "Hot Property" is the running world's equivalent of America's favorite corporate band. Would it really be out of line to claim that? I think I will put their set list on my ipod to listen to while I run. Enjoy this clip, and please watch all of it.

Our team is the ultimate line up of some of my favorite people.

Van 1: Cathy, Rob, Mark, Sarah, me, and the beautiful Brittny. She is a babe and I look forward to having her experience this with me.

Van 2: Greg, Susan, Michael, Justin, Garrett, and possibly Gary depending on his knees.

I will keep updates of my training and team news. For now, take a look at my legs!
My first leg is classified as "very hard" and described as "knee jarring" Take a look at that descent. I'll let gravity do most of the work.
Now I got to pick up some elevation. One of my favorite things to do, whether hunting or running.A nice little 5K to end it all. I should be plenty tired by now and if it is like last year I will run this one early in the morn'. No running in the dark for me. Maybe.

U SUCC

Just got this e mail the other day:
Dear BRIAN :

Thank you for your recent application for the Turkey Draw. Your
results are:

Appl # Hunt Result
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
542903 PU-170, PU-171 TURKEY UNSUCCESSFUL
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only a $10 handling fee was charged; therefore you will not receive a
refund.
So, I will not be providing the main course for Thanksgiving this year. Unless you need me to buy it at the store.

I bet I will only draw one tag this year anyway, general archery deer. It's a pretty good participation prize, so I am not complaining.

And just to make this post not totally lame, I will post a random picture:

Oops made it even more lame.

The Raging Clues

When I asked if anyone knew what I was doing in the picture from the previous post, my brother Mark's guess was: "coaching the worst Jr. Jazz basketball team ever?" He was 100% correct. Alright, maybe not the worst ever, I was once on a team that lost 66-6. But the "Raging Clues" are pretty bad. Pretty much the team consists of a group of kids that live near the bungalow and belong to broken homes (for the most part). 9th and 10th graders. One of the most frustrating things I have ever done, but a lot of fun. The games are classic. Comedy at it's finest. So far this season we are 0-4. But we are in 2nd place in the sportsmanship category. Kind of proud of that. We also have a black kid on the team!

The "Clues" after snatching defeat from the Hands of victory. We actually had a 10 point lead early on in this game. I like my pants too.
"The Raging Clues"
A good way to pass the time. Just my way to give back to the community.

Its Been A While (sang in Nuge voice)

Just a quick update to let all know that I am still alive. Now have a laptop so I will be better suited to blog. Here is an update of things to come.

One way I pass the time in the off season:
Can you tell what I am doing in this picture? It has nothing to do with hunting, but everything to do with hillarity
